INTERVIEWS REEL

Whether you are looking for a dp for your video-film, documentary project, or broadcast, you'll need to shoot an interview. Drop me a line— I can help. In my 40+ year career in video, I've shot over 3,000 interviews. Here's a small sampling. (trt: 2:45)

SOCIAL MEDIA REEL

Since 2017, I've been working at the forefront of the Social Media Video phenomenon. Native social media videos are more effective at getting users to stop scrolling compared to links to videos on third-party platforms. The basic formula: square format, text narration, under one minute. Here is a sampling of the work I've done at the University of Hawaii.

FROM A SINGLE CANDLE

In February 2012, I made my first trip to Phnom Penh to begin filming a documentary about madame Nuon Phaly, a hero of Cambodia and the founder of Future Light Orphanage. Unfortunately, in 2014, she succumbed to injuries suffered in a freak automobile accident in Ratanakiri province, and I rushed back to FLO to experience her funeral. This sequence would have been the climax to the film.

MANUHEALI'I

As it aligns closely with the work I do in portrait and fine art photography, I love the occaisional fashion spot. From 1984-1990, fashion was a regular part of my work as a director at Hawai'i Production Center and McHale Videofilm. This spot for Manuheali'i blends a reggae track by Anuhea with the bright designs of Pono and Danene Lunn, two of the nicest folks in the Hawaiian fashion business.
